This piece started with a hand drawn pen and ink tree, one that I stumbled across one day in a local provincial park. It had the biggest, gnarliest burl and I thought it looked so, so cool and instantly was curious what they heck causes this? Well in short, trauma, trauma causes these wild unique features. Much like us, the tree had something happen to it, it adapted and now its stoping me in my tacks to admire the amazing being it has become. This piece is a paring of the artwork and the thoughts it inspired in me and I hope you connect with it, I hope it reminds you just how one of a kind and jaw dropping gorgeous you are, inside and out.
